Plenary Discussion at the Equilibrium Round-table, 8 July 2022.
A round-table hosted by Radical Ecology, responding to recent calls by the Prime Minister of Barbados for a new global architecture for climate finance that is fit for the need of the 2020s and beyond.
Participants came together for an intimate gathering to forge new imaginations and ideas, and consider what it means to reach a global ‘equilibrium’. In bringing together climate science and the global finance sector, creative practitioners, international legal institutions, governments and civil society actors from both the global north and the global south, the roundtable responded from the leading edge of earth systems science to consider the movement of financial flows where needed and redraw a global architecture for climate justice.
The round-table was hosted in partnership with the Global Systems Institute - University of Exeter, Serpentine’s Back to Earth project, the Institute for Arab and Islamic Studies - University of Exeter, the International Centre for Climate Change and Development & the Nicoletta Fiorucci Foundation, as part of Equilibrium which is supported by the Open Society Foundations.
